Uptown Sushi in Houston

good sushi choice in houston. post oak area. not a huge selection, but very good quality. tonight had yellowtail, bluefin, toro, salmon and kama. all were excellent. nice setting, social scene at regular bar.

This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in Houston. My girlfriend and I had Celeste as our server on Valentine’s Day and she exceeded expectations. Great recommendations on Sushi and Drinks. Will definitely return. Thanks for a great experience!

The best sushi in Houston! I love to make and eat food but I’m really not an expert for making sushi. One of my favorite things to order when I’m in restaurants is sushi! Sushi is easy, healthy and for me almost unmistakable choice. This place is my No.1 for sushi! 5 stars for delicious food, great customer service and nice and clean restaurant!

Great upscale place with decent prices. Drinks are delicious I suggest an orange martini not on the menu but they make a great one. I suggest the Kobe cubes, the little quail egg is to die for. The hot rock you can cook your meat the way you like.

Really beautiful place.... I mean, really stunning. Great ambience. Perfect for a date night. Very clean. Amazing service too... my water was refilled every few minutes and somehow the extra ginger I was going to ask for magically appeared in front of me before I had the chance to ask. How did they know? Very impressive. For the sake of comparison... I like the food at Uchi much better. But I'd say the level of service and the atmosphere at Uptown is just as good, if not better. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

This place is pretty classy and the sushi is so tasty. The food can take a bit to come out but it’s always worth the wait! The interior is clean and comfortable, but the restaurant is a bit dim. I’d love to come back here again on a holiday!

A nice ambience at this restaurant but a bit pricey for the quality of sushi. I came in on Halloween evening for dinner and we sat at the bar. It wasn’t a super busy evening but our waitress took a while to get back to take our orders so we ended up ordering with another gentleman who asked how we were doing. Has to ask for a water refill as waitresses were busy talking amongst themselves in a corner. We ordered the salmon squares, salmon and tuna sashimi, as well as some nigiri pieces. They do have some interesting vegetarian rolls I would like to come back and try.

This place was about to go under construction when I visited. It was very nice inside, but the booth's seating was starting to crack. (It was some sort of vinyl/pleather). The rolls were amazing. I tend to stick to the 'basic' options. The California roll is pretty standard and will not disappoint.

Great place to Dine in...

Not worth in terms of portion size but worth the experience. Don#2 was a masterpiece. The flavors mixed together extremely well (even better than typical high quality rolls) with a uniform warmth and smoothness. Uka provided the beautiful combination of ingredients expected of a high quality roll while adding a twist of sweetness that brings the roll to a new level. Overall, I would highly recommend for the experience as long as money is not a concern.

It was a wonderful and pleasant experience the staff made my family and I feel comfortably safe, without being over the top which then allowed us to fellowship and most importantly enjoy the cuisine.

The minimum am allowed to make is 1 star, I wish there was an option for 0 or minus stars.Very rude waiter(s)..and another waiter, doesn’t speak nor understand English.I asked for the left-over food to be packed for me to take it to home.. what they did, they threw it away and we had to wait for an additional 35 mins for them to prepare the exact number of pieces that were on our plate. No 0.000001% discount was made on the invoice for the Very bad service we received and for the 35 mins waste of time.I will never come back here and hope no one does to.

Recently remodeled. The food has always been excellent here. The atmosphere has returned, it's a fun place to be.

Food is pretty good. The dessert in the other hand is not. We tried the cheesecake and chocolate cake and both were nasty. Cheesecake tasted like it was pure cheesecake and the chocolate cake tasted like there was not enough flour. It was very gritty

Amazing sushi! The optimus roll, the J&L special are some of my favorites. Surprisingly the bests chicken wings I have ever had! And do not forget to try the kobe beef squares!! My main complaint will be the BATHROOM SMELLS TERRIBLE (this has not been fixed for YEARS now)

Yummy sushi, fairly pricy for lunch though. It would be nice if there were more sushi roll options for lunch specials, most everything was cooked.

Don#2 is wonderful. Sake is wonderful. Atmosphere is wonderful. Wait staff is wonderful. Definitely a go to place to dine!

This is a flashy place where you go to be seen and with prices to match. Sushi is mediocre at best and service is spotty. I saw a lot of young servers congregating in one spot but they rarely checked on us. Menu is pretty standard for a sushi place with higher than average prices. Place suitable for corporate types or flashy people, if you want a more authentic sushi experience then I'd say Teppay on Westheimer is a better choice.

Always fresh fish! Nice renovations. Great wine and beverage list. 5 star service with informed wait staff. Ryan was a great waiter! Bus boys and water service is always there to fill your glass.

Atmosphere is cute and the service is good. I didn't find the cocktails or food impressive at all for the location/pricing. We ordered the beef with duck egg appetizer, tiger shrimp and sushi rolls. I would skip this place and go to the Fish or something.

I was here for a wedding celebration. The atmosphere was upscale but cozy, and the food was delicious. The owner, who's a fun, welcoming guy, visited with us.

My family and I had a great experience here. We were a large group (about 10) and the staff here treated us like royalty! We were celebrating my daughter's completion of grad school, and she wanted to celebrate here. I am not a big fan of sushi, but this place moved me closer to being one. They have a nice wine selection, more than sufficient for making good pairings with the food. Staff, service, food, wine -- all excellent!

Been coming here since they opened. Always loved it. Last few times seems to be slipping Went last week for lunch with friends the fab house salad had not one but four black hairs Asked for ponzu and finally after ten minutes went to sushi bar to get it Had to ask waiter to take salad off the bill Very disappointing

Came here for a quick dinner with a friend. The place is very modern and upscale looking.The avocado miso soup was surprisingly delicious. I would come back just to have it. It was very light but quite filling. We also ordered chicken wings. I know, chicken wings may not sound like the first choice at a sushi restaurant but they are a must try. The batter had a nice spicy kick and a unique taste. I wonder what their secret is to the tasty batter. Nice drink selections, friendly staff. Can't say anything bad about it.

Great food! Truffle tuna and Kobe cubes are to die for. New renovation is like extra icing on the cake.
